Greater Cambridge in 2041
The Greater Cambridge in 2041 Plan takes inspiration from what is unique about the area. New development must minimise carbon emissions and reliance on the private car; create thriving neighbourhoods; increase nature, wildlife and green spaces; and safeguard unique heritage and landscapes.
Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are working together to create a joint plan for the two areas – which is being referred to as Greater Cambridge. This will ensure that there is a consistent approach to planning, across both areas.
